Permissions on Android devices
The following are the permissions requested by the Handheld WMS App on an Android
device. Due to differences in Android versions, not all devices will ask or require these
permissions.
Note: Certain functions may not function if permissions are disabled for the app on a device.
Permissions in bold are generally the ones which will be asked to be approved on first use and may be controlled in the permissions area of the setting on the device.
- AccessWifiState
- AccessCoarseLocation - Location Access is required to check WiFi availability.
- Bluetooth - Used to get the name of the device
- Camera - Camera Access is required to scan bar codes. (Only requested by devices without a known scanner)
- ChangeWifiState
- Install Unknown Apps - Android "O" and later.
- Internet
- ReadExternalStorage - File Access is required to read/write log files.
- WriteExternalStorage
